What a day. Home to Shepparton and then another 280kms to Griffiths NSW. Pete joined me until Shepparton which was nice company to start the trip. Today was a total of just under 500km's.
I dropped into Mum's place to say hi, have a cuppa and then I was off about 9:45am. Typical Melbourne weather, it rained as I was leaving, but I didn't care as I was heading north to glorious low to mid 30's.
Today was the first full day of riding my new bike and boy is she great is the road. Cruise control is just amazing on a bike. You could set it at 120km's and just relax knowing no license loss and then overtake with huge power and safety. Now you all know I would only set it at 100km's :)
During the whole trip today, I had major wind gusts which were mainly side wind so my neck muscles are knacked. Many times it was so strong it almost forced me into other lanes. Thankfully not too much traffic.
Below is a pic of the bike at a break.
Griffith NSW, like Mildura is known for its orange orchards. What was really sad, was seeing the trees and the fruit laying on the ground. Apparently Argentina is importing orange concentrate cheaply and the orchard owners are just letting the fruit drop and rot.
Griffith is having a race weekend and many locals were at the League Club for dinner before festivities this evening. Great seeing all the girls dressed to the nine's including hats and facinators. Great eye candy for me but I just wonder how many will be able to walk in the wee hrs this morning. Oh to be young again :)
That's it for today. Big day tomorrow heading for outback Bourke NSW.
Enjoy

Pity about the oranges :(
